School Trip

Koby left this morning at the normal time, but there is no school, instead they are all going on a school trip to the Asahikawa Zoo. Yasuko made a lunch for him to take and he also brought some candy. Yasuko took some pictures of him leaving on the bus, all of the kids were excited to be going on the first school trip of the year. While Koby was on his school trip, Yasuko, Evan and myself decided to drive to a local ski resort which is a park and a golf course in the summer time, and has a great view of Higashikawa, and Higashikagura and also parts of Asahikawa. There is also a Japanese style castle that sits on top of the mountain which we got to go in and lookout from the top.

The castle doubles as a museum of agriculture and as many tools that they used to work the fields with a long time ago, including plows, horse saddles, old hoes, etc. It was very interesting and a nice day finally to get out and breathe some clean air. The temperature was warm today and will be very nice the next three days.

After the park visit we hurried home so we would be here when the school bus came back from the zoo with the kids. We took pictures as Koby and the other kids got off the bus and watched the short dismissal speech. After that we went to the post office and then came right back. I played with the neighborhood kids until it started to get dark.

We ate udon noodles and stir fried veggies for dinner and watched TV, the kids were worn out from playing hard today, especially Koby and went to bed at 8:45 pm. We got a call from the Fujita family and asked if I could help them plant rice tomorrow at 8:00 am. You bet I will be there to help out, after all of the free vegetables that they have given us and also the use of their car when we were car-less, it's the least I could do.

I have to be at their house at 8:00 am so I think that I will get to bed earlier than usual tonight.

Temp: High - 63
Low - 45
